Hey everyone — I’m Fu-rinz, a 23-year-old grad student studying chemistry in Japan. Welcome to my channel! Today I’ll show you a typical weekday in my life as a chemistry grad student.

✔︎schedule
8:30 — Wake up
I get up at 8:30 and get ready super fast.
9:00 — Commute
My commute to campus takes about an hour.
10:00 — Start experiments
Our lab has one rule: experiments should start by 10 a.m. Some labs have strict “core time” — hours when you’re expected to be in the lab — but ours is relatively relaxed.

12:00 — Lunch
We have a rice cooker in the lab and take turns cooking rice. I bring my own side dishes.
13:00 — Resume experiments
Back to finishing the morning work.
15:00 — Gym / Strength training
Grad school lets me use my time flexibly, so I head to the university gym for a quick workout to refresh.
16:00 — Finish experiments & clean up
Wrapping up the day’s experiments and tidying the workspace.
18:00 — Data analysis
I organize the day’s data and plan next steps for upcoming experiments.
20:00 — Head home
I usually leave campus around 8 p.m. Excluding lunch and the gym, my research time is roughly eight hours — kind of between a student and a working professional.
21:00 — Home
Relax time.
0:00 — Sleep
I’m serious about sleep, so I aim for around eight hours every night.
I follow this routine Monday–Friday. What do you think — surprisingly busy or pretty relaxed? Let me know in the comments. I’ll share more detailed schedules, experiments, and study tips in future videos. If you’re curious about grad school life in Japan, don’t forget to like and subscribe. See you next time!
